What gets your vote on the worst lyrics mine would be

I'm afraid of the dark
'Specially when I'm in a park
And there's no one
else around
Oh I get the shivers
I don't wanna see a ghost
It's the sight
that I fear most
I'd rather have a
piece of toast

I mean come on its like she picked the first thing that rhymed

Haha Yes. We used to say excactly the same when that came on the jukebox.
I think one of my favourites is:

"Pump up the Jam, pump it up , pump it up. Yo pump it."

It could have been written by the bard himself.
A mole, digging in a hole
Digging up my soul
Now going down, excavation
I and eye in the sky
You make me feel like I can fly So high
Elevation

Do me a favour Bono, and f**k off.
The lyrics to Africa by Toto take some beating.
They needed something to rhyme with "company", and came up with the majestic -"Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti". They even changed the pronunciation to try to get it to scan. The accent should be on the last syllable, but they changed it to the first. Classic stuff.
Conversley best have to be:
Pump it up by Elivs Costello
Jupiter and Teardrop by Grant Lee Buffalo
or anything by Roots Manuva or Gary Barlow.
most honest lyrics
alice cooper schools out
Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
Well, I'm a little dinosaur
I'm a little dinosaur
I'm a little dinosaur
But I'm planning to go away.

Now, I am real old, don't you know
Born ten billion years ago.
But they don't love me here enough and so
I'm planning to go away

Now the children upon their lawns
Will wake up and wonder where I've gone.
And the flies that buzz around where I now be
They're all gonna have to get along without me.

They'll say,
Where's the little dinosaur?
Where's the little dinosaur?
Where's that little dinosaur?
He must have gone away.

Awful but brilliant...
Celine Dion has a few blinders. Here's a couple of quite random lines that spring to mind:

"I could never worship Pagan gods around me, I will only follow the path that leads me to you baby.."

"Across the floor, dreams and shadows play just like wind blown refugees"

Methinks Celine will sing anything given to her!
This is bad - Toast by Paul Young

And Ride My Pony by Genuwine is truly awful

You mean if you were a piece of wood I'd nail you to the floor
I want my baby back

Check out this one - too big to cut and paste.

pusspuss, that's quite a clever lyric. Class can mean both school class and classiness; principles are standards but principals in the USA are headmasters. So a neat pun there.
and from your grandparents' time:

Hut-Sut Rawlson on the rillerah and a brawla, brawla sooit,
Hut-Sut Rawlson on the rillerah and a brawla sooit.
Hut-Sut Rawlson on the rillerah and a brawla, brawla sooit,
Hut-Sut Rawlson on the rillerah and a brawla sooit.
Jno reminded me of Vout King, Slim Gillard's unforgettable Cement Mixer song.

Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
(Poodle-da-skoodie, poodle-da skoodie,
poodle-da-skoodie)

Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
(Poodle-da-skoodie, poodle-da skoodie,
poodle-da-skoodie)
(Re-beat...).......Concrete!

First you get some gravel,
(From the streams) about.
You mix a mess of mortar,
(Splash) a mess of water,
See the mello-roonie come out!
Slurp, slurp, slurp....

Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
Who wants a bucket of cement?

From Katie Melua
This is the closest thing to crazy I have ever been
Feeling twenty-two, acting seventeen,

When I was 22 I was just as crazy as when I was 17 ffs there's not much diffrence love

Mary Pickford used to eat roses
Thought that they'd make her beautiful and they did,
One supposes.

Douglas Fairbanks, he was so handsome,
He wore a moustache,
Must-a had much cash, too,
Worth a king's ransom,

Wibble!!!

If you're a cowboy I would trail you,
If you're a piece of wood I'd nail you

Too fcuking right you wopuld sweetheart, in fact, shouldn't it be the guy doing the nailing???
Dance hall days
Wang Chung.

Take your baby by the hand
And make her do a high handstand
and take your baby by the heel
And do the next thing that you feel

CHORUS

We were so in phase
In our Dance Hall Days
We were cool on craze
When I, you and everyone we knew
Could believed, do, and share in what was true

Dance Hall days love

VERSE 2
Take your baby by the hair
And pull her close and there there there
And take your baby by the ears
And play upon her darkest fears

CHORUS AGAIN

Dance Hall Days love,
Dance Hall days (X2)

Take your baby by the wrist
And in her mouth an amethyst
And in her eyes two sapphires blue
And you need her and she needs you (x5

Great tune naff lyrics.

Closely followed by Black Hole Sun.
Even the writer said the lyrics made no sense.
