Email - Help!!

My current setup for my email to dial up to the server and check for emails is every 1 minute. I really need this to be checking my email every 10 seconds or so. Under settings the best it shows is 1 minute. Is it possible to set my email to dial up to the server every 10 seconds throughout the day? Please help as it is driving me mad! thx.

I think 1 min is the minimum you can select but you can manually select send/receive if you are expecting something.

1min is the lowest you can go, much lower than that and there would be a good chance that it wouldn't have completed the previous send receive before starting another one.

Why on earth someone would need to be checking emails every 10seconds all day is also beyond me!! surely the extra 50seconds can't make that much difference

Marky, thank you as well for you answer. I manage a small business that has recently been put on a PSL for a very large organisation. They then email out the next days orders to everyone at the sametime at no set time throughout the day. Unfortunately today I have lost out on 13 orders as by the time my PC has received the email, my competitors, within the other 50 seconds/ 40 secs / 30 secs etc, have secured that order, and for a small business in a large pond it does make a huge difference. Due to this frustration I was looking to try anything to gain the advantage. Once again cheers.

although many things can happen in the duration of one minute, it is not that a long wait to check again for mail. but i do understand your situation. hope you find an easier solution.

maybe you could have a set up which will alert you with a ring when a mail comes in. i think yahoo and aol has those features.

see if your mail provider supports IMAP instead of pop3, IMAP syncs with the server and all mail is stored on the server rather than your computer, the advantage to you is mail will show in your inbox the second it is delivered to the mail server

Cheers Marky, will look in to that one. We have been aware of this problem for a few days now and have set up the PC so that it makes the usual sound when an email comes in......... problem now is, we seem to be running around like mad people when an email arrives only to find out that I have an answer from answerbank!!!!!!! Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated
