there should be a tiny lever thing at the back of it - on top - that touches the machine.

Pull out the drawer as far as you can. In the centre of it at the top, try pushing down gently and it should give enough to release the drawer and slide out.

Most washing machine drawers are designed to come out for cleaning so you could contact the customer service of the manufacturer. When I get that black stuff, it is mould & sometimes I can't be bothered to take the drawer out so I get neat bleach, a washing up brush & an old toothbrush. Covering my clothes & hands & making sure the machine is empty! I add neat bleach & give it a good scrub, rinsing the mess away with hot water in a jug. Then put the machine on to wash empty to get rid of all the remaining bleach - Don't forget this part or you'll have some very interesting looking washing! lol. If you live in a hard water area like me don't forget the soda crystals to soften the water.
haha some fab answers there people! thanks!! well its in the middle of a wash so i shall try yanking it out when it has finished!! ( not mid cycle!) it seems to have a strange smell too, only way i can describe it is like a garlic kinda smell!! yep v weird i know, will def try all suggestions n i shall update ya shortly ooo what a lovely exciting wednesday night in clean my washer. sad me. thanks all.
