How to find out when a baby is born

My brother's ex girlfriend was due to give birth to their baby last month. They are not talking to each other and I don't have a contact number for her but am curious as to when the baby was born, what sex it is etc.

Is there any way I can find out through a register of births or suchlike whether the ex has had the baby?

I am curious myself but wish to find out more so for my brother who is living in limbo atm. He and his ex had a very turbulent relationship due to drug taking (on both sides) and so have not had contact for 5 months.

Any advise would be appreciated.

If it's anything like where I live, these things are usually announced in the local rag. Might be worth keeping your eye on that in the next feww weeks?

Our local rag is about 2 months behind. Just go round there you are the aunty. Or maybe if you are doing this for your brother he should be the one going, he is a dad and has every right to know.
