If the whole of the internet went down? Is there one big server somewhere, wouldnt it be the end of the world with so many companies relying on it?

Good question. I thought the internet was just the situation when all the computers in the world were talking to each other. So to speak.
dont all PCs hold some sort of internet content?

i recall being shown some sites that seemed to be hosted by my old work PC.

there must be somewhere it all goes back to like one massive computer like the toad has in danger mouse underground somewhere. Would we survive?
use the telphone
or post leters
a very besic answer, but we wouldnt be able to opperate.
That's a bit like asking the same question about telephones,
ie, is one big site controlling all phones,
no they are all individual,
try to think of it like a network of roads, you can still drive from a to b even if many roads are closed,
it's maybe difficult to explain but no, there isn't one big controller.

dusty the web isnt just about e-mails some people have accounts that can only be accessed through some peoples companys are only web based, like insurance companies
more fool them if the web went down then they would be in the s**t
