Squeeling noise from my car engine when accelerating in low gear, could it be the fan belt slipping please?

Almost certainly it needs tightening or replacing.
well, it could be the alternator belt as well. Cars often get weird noises as these warm up after starting. Could be either.
Also check the PAS and the aircon belts.

If this occurs more often just after starting then it's definitely the alternator which is working hard to replace the 150 Amps or so momentarily drawn when turning over the engine. There will usually be a bolt in a slot which you slacken slightly, it also helps to slacken the alternator pivot bolt. Lever the alternator in the direction of tightening with a bit of wood against a strong part of the engine block then tighten the slot bolt. Don't overtighten the belt (it damages the alternator and sometimes water pump bearings), just make it a bit tighter than before then give it a test. Retighten all the bolts if OK. Do check in the manual if you have one.
