Last name in booking

My friends have booked 2 flights in europe for me ( rome-budapest and paris-barcelona), and they did the reservation with my middle name instead of my last name.... For example: my name is John Paul Mercadante Pretti, and the reservation was done in name of JOHN MERCADANTE..... Do you think it could be a problem when embarking?

If Mercadante is written on your passport or identity card there shouldn't be a problem. You could always arrive early so if there is a problem it could be sorted - I've booked people within a group with double barrel names in their first surname only and there's been no problem.
