Just trying to put this one to bed this morning! Having problems with bottom right hand corner - can anyone confirm the following

Based on 23d Being ADAPTOR and 26ac ROCK (which I dont like much) is 30ac PASSABLE (which I like even less how does it stop in tracks?) and 27d CHAISE

Confirmation or otherwise would be appreciated

Is that the full clue "How does it stop in its tracks"?

When posting a question please provide the full clue and number of letters. We don't all take the same papers!
I have the same answers as you rockfordill ... so hopefully we are on the right track!

Must admit that I'm also unable to fully justify anser to 30a for which clue is " Not so good it stops you in your tracks".

Hopefully, one of our cryptic experts will be able to shed light on it?
I, too, have those answers in what always seems to be a crossword specialising in weak answers.

Regarding 'passable' - one meaning is that it is just about acceptable. Now take the whole clue - if it was better than passable it would stop being passable and you couldn't 'pass' it - but as it is only passable it won't stop you in your tracks. Sorry that is not very clear, I know, but the clue is not exactly a great one.
