Our neighbour has chickens and is selling eggs. How much would A/B's expect to pay for these eggs.
Just curious for others views (I know how much they are charging)

I paid �2.48 yesterday in Tescos for 6 organic free range eggs, 2 months ago they were �1.65, I wonder why they've gone up that much.

�1.20 for 6 is the average in a supermarket and there is always doubt as to their authenticity and they are certainly not days old - more likely weeks old. So you are getting a bargain!!

I pay �1.80 a dozen, large farm fresh , delivered free, but always give him �2.00.

The cost of all cereals has gone through the roof over the past couple of months, our wild bird food has nearly doubled in price from the wholesaler and we have had to cut the weights. This affects lots of different foods, apart from straightforward cereals/animal feed it affects bread, biscuits, cakes, dog food, etc. as well as meat as many animals are fed on cereals.

I saw advertised at �2 a dozen today, and thought how expensive they were. I have been paying �1 a dozen for ages.

After 5 years of �1 a dozen I have just put mine up to �1.20,and my duck eggs �1 for half a ozen.
My chickens are out all day everyday unless it is blowing a gale or snowing.

you are all being ripped off, I pay �1.20 a dozen for free range from a lady who also sells goats milk at 60p a litre.

I charge �1.80 a dozen. The cost of feed has gone through the roof lately and people forget that we still have to feed our chickens through the winter, when they don't lay much. Must admit, though, folk round here (especially the holidymakers) are happy to pay this, because I do a nice mixed box of brown, white and blue eggs. The blue ones are from my Araucanas and people like the novelty value! A box like this would cost twice as much in Waitrose.

I'm in West Wales, if any of you are up this way!! I've had so many eggs lately, I sold 3 doz yesterday and even now I've loads left (they're laying like mad at the moment!). You can only make so many rhubarb & custard tarts, cakes, brioche & ice cream!! And then I've got loads of egg whites left over, so we live on pavlovas for days!!! (Rather yummy, though!!) K xx
