Someone tell me

I have put this in nature section but no answer. Why do some daisies have pink in them?

I dont think ive seen one with pink in it? maybe it's to do with the pH of the soil

Have you not, I noticed loads yesterday where the tips of the petals are pink

I think its to do with the soil -just like you can change the colours of flowers by adding dye in the water.

I have noticed them and they are gorj !!

Wild Daisies often have traces of pink in them. I just thought this was normal. :o)

well I thought that dris but then wondered what the heck was pink in the soil

Sometimes if the soil is like clay that can be pinky -thats all i can think of it must be something like that I think lol

Yep, lots of flowers vary in colour with the soil type - like hydrangeas in acid soil are blue (No blue soil though 4get ;o) ).

Lots of my 'bluebells' are pink!!

A weed is only a flower in the wrong place! I actually like wild flowers better than the showy cultivated varieties.

I love daisies and buttercups in a longish lawn - much better than the striped bowling green varieties!

Are pink bluebells not actually a different type of bluebell? I always thought they were.

I was honestly just saying I hadnt seen buttercups recently -we used to hold them under our chin (chins now) to see if we liked butter.

I love wild flowers -they are beautiful !!

What I like about wild flowers,Dris, is that they are very subtle and usually really intricate when you look at them closely. Also all the colours blend, whereas cultivated flowers can be brazen and brassy.
