The problem is that by making a U turn, it will create a influx of complaints about various taxes ect all wanting to bet overturned.
Bit like the strikes, if they back down to the pressure heaped on by the strikers then people will strike more because they know that there is a chance that the government will back down.

I think all money gained by doing away with the tax band is already allocated.....a bit of spend-before-you-earn. So on that basis,a u-turn is too complicated-especially for people who could not have the sense to see the upset they would cause......and now they introduce measures that will only help the very young workers and pensioners. What about the rest of us??? We must be invisible.
He can't. The economy is in such a state he now needs every penny. An example ...it will cost the goverment at least 5 billion just to deport the illegal imagrants....

Boy is this country FCUK'ed.
An example of how -
The us goverment were able to pump 150 billion into the economy in the way of tax cuts , to help in the latest downturn. What has Gordon done ?
Well he is skint , so he raised taxes.
Bring back Thatcher I say. At least she cut my tax from 60% down to 40%.

Labour has always been known as high spending ...high taxes goverments. This Labour goverment have been trying to hide the tax rises and delay them.
