I had a Honeysuckle in the past. I didn't need to look after it - it just grew and grew! And they smell nice too! I don't know all the varieties - I am sure there are many. Your local garden centre probably has plenty to choose from.
honeysuckle is very nice and easy to look after ,jasmine is very fragrant and is an evergreen so you would have cover all year round, wisteria is fragrant too but can take over and needs to be pruned regularilly to keep it flowering, climbing roses are ok but can suffer with all the diseases that go with normal roses.
Whatever you decide to go for, a tip.....plant some sweet peas around your honeysuckle/climber/rose/whatever in spring and you get the most delightful combination of scents. I did that this year for the first time and it worked really well. The sweet peas scramble up the honeysuckle. Looks good too. Happy gardening.
