if you over dunk it do you attempt a rescue? or let it perish and look upon the biscuit corpse at cup bottom when you finish your brew

I have to make a fresh brew bob- the thought of a tea sodden biscuit lurking at the bottom of the cup makes me gag.

Muuuuuummmmm, me biscuit's fallen in me breeeeewwwwwwwww!!!

It's a long time since I dunked, but I would just pour it out, I hated the textue of it at the bottom of the cup.
The instinct is to try to rescue it until at least 20 seconds have elapsed, after that time only 2 options are employed, option 1 is to fetch a teaspoon and attempt to spoon out the remains.

when that fails it is left with option 2, which is to accept the loss and to continue to drink your tea, unfortunatly most people will drink the rest of the tea with caution, knowing that there is biscuit debris floating near the bottom of the cup, in some extreme cases people have been known to refuse to drink the rest of the tea.
Attempt a rescue if it's floating. If it's submerged then I just leave it til the end.
