In terms of getting cheap digital cameras & various electronics you can't go wrong in Singapore. The major drawback is getting to Singapore.

Very recently I had a conversation with someone who has been to Singapore: he said things are not particularly cheap there although choice and service cannot be faulted. He went on to suggest Tenerife (i.e. where the locals live) is remarkably cheap. I offer this with no guarantee but you might like to enquire more closely.
