Remote access to a P.C.
5 Answers
I have seen a programme which allows you, after installing a part on each machine' to remotly access a P.C. ie. to be at work and access files on the computer at home or use the programmes or memory of another computer in the office. This is not just a network connection thing it actually allows you to work on the other computer, the currsor moves, windows open etc on the 'slave' computer. I belive it was available as a free download from A.T&T but I don't know what it was called and I can't find it on their site.
Any ideas?

Set it up on both machines and if you get a connection of any sort between them you can then control one from the other. You can also use Microsoft's Netmeeting, which enables you to 'share' a screen, but this really needs a person at both ends. Good luck!
PCAnywhere from Symantec is very good for remote controlling. I use it for configuring machines and for guiding operators through unfamilliar tasks. We can talk on the 'phone and I can see what they're doing and if they get stuck I can show them. You can also transfer files, contents of either clipboard back and forth and send ctrl-alt-deli should you require. It's reasonable on the 'phone but is almost like being there on a network.
