a) y=6-x
y=x+3

b) x=y-5
x=3y+13

c) 3x+y=2
2x+y=13

d) 2x-3y=-7
2x+3y=11

e) x-y = -5
2x-y=-7

f) 4x+3y=-9
-4x+y= -19

Solve part (G) by substitution and part (H) by elimination,

a)

Substitue (6-x) for y in y=x+3

So 6-x=x+3

So 2x= 3

So x=1.5

So y=1.5+3

So y=4.5

Do the rest of them using the same method.

thanks :)
Tichfield, you are right about the age, but remember nowadays the poor students may have to do 2 exams in one day, although I guess having cheated on their coursework to get about 50% of the marks already may have helped a little.
