sentencing at crown court

basically i am a victim of a crime and am going to court in 2 weeks and would like to know if the guy will go away and how long for,

the circumstances are as follows, i was at work at a warehouse and was wrapping a pallet it fell over and some guy started having a go at me for it and he asked me to go outside because we started to argue so i went outside so i was not having this disscusion in front of the manger the guy then told me he had something in his car for me, he then got in his car and drove away so i thought he just dorve off to chill out went back inside and was at the drinks machine and next thing i know i have turned around and am on the floor, he has hit me over the head with a wheel brace and twice while i was on the floor knocked out, he then ran away and drove off, i suffered a depressed skull fracture with results in surgery to place a titanuium plate in my head, the charge has has got is

wounding/causing grievous bodily harm with intent

could someone shed some light on this and give me some rough direction has to what will happen at crown court and also to tell you he pleaded not guilty at police station then again at magistrates and got adjourned to crown court and when not guilty again and then got adjoured to a different crown court,

firstly did any one see this happening - yes he is going to say not guilty. he needs to go down he did the crime so do the time mate.

sorry forgot to add that, its on cctv and was witnissed by about 6 people, thanks, just trying to get an idea of how long of a sentence this crime carrys
