Hi,

Could anyone tell me is it possible to buy a personal cd player (about 30) and get a connection to hook it into my car (via the cigarette lighter). Thats what i heard but i have no idea. How much would the connection cost and would i need a mechanic to install it? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, I've got one of these. I bought it in Argos a couple of years ago for about 70 quid, and all the necessary leads were included. If you shop around I'm sure you could find one a lot cheaper. The power lead plugs into the cigarette lighter and another attatchment slots into the tape player. You don't need to worry about any tricky connections, it's as easy as that. It works fine too.

Thanks, do you know what i should call it when i'm searching for it?

Just ask for a 'car kit', they should know what you mean. Hopefully the following link works, in which case you'll see what I mean.

I got one from Currys a few months ago, it cost 25 and came with all the necessary leads and works just fine.

A lot cheaper than paying to have a CD player installed!
