why so many stabbings in this part of london ? i have a son and if this happen to me trust me i would want the world to know he is everything to me i feel so much pain for the parents of this handsome lad who has lost his life just because someone thinks they had the right to take it away.
this man has been robbed of his life and also his parents i say bring back hanging or someone just as severe , this story ripped my heart out on sunday morning ,

I agree that it's totally heartbreaking. I have to be honest and say that when drug dealers etc shoot or stab each other I feel no sympathy whatsoever (and it's a few more of them off our streets) but for a young, innocent lad to lose his life so senselessly is gutting.

Have to say I don't agree with the death penalty but I think that life should mean life when it comes to prison sentences.

And one more thing - how incredible has his mum been about it - saying that she feels sorry for the murderer's parents? As I've mentioned before on AB I'm agnostic but was brought up Catholic - I think Mrs Mizen's attitude says a lot about the good things that can come out of religion. She's a credit to her faith. Although if it was my son who'd been murdered, no amount of faith would stop me from wanting to see the scum that killed him strung up. Oh dear, contradicted myself there ;) Guess this story has just really struck a raw nerve...

you are so right spiritual, hagging should be brought back, why should,nt it be a eye for an eye, i say let the victims family choose how, prison is no detterent they have a better life inside, yes to prison if they go back to the bread and water and hard labour days, then the do gooders say what of their human rights, they were not thinking of their victims rights when they have been inflicting harm on to them and the most frightning thing of all is it will only get worse, what has to happen before any thing gets done?

Unfortunately this government seem to have desire to drag this country down the level of South Africa, with its terrible crime rate and ghettos.

I agree with a bit of all the things said here by different people.

1 - Yes capital punishment should be there as prisons and especially in our countries have become like 5 star hotels. We would have to pay for Gym and other facilities, prisoners get it free. Then over crowded prisons and that gives chance to so many to get away.
2 - Few people give example of USA that there death sentence did not deter people. But even there I think only 10% serious criminals go that far as far as death penalty is concerned.
3 - We can not blame any race for this as they might be the descendants of Africans or whatever but they are born here. I believe our failed family systems are the biggest reasons behind all these teenagers going out of control. Many parents would back their children up for any thing they do without thinking about the future consequences.
4 - I know Mrs. Mizzen is saying how the parents of the murderer would be feeling and she feels sorry for them. But you never know his parents might be feeling very proud about their son being Tough. Because I have my own experience when I told a 9 years child off for using excessive �f� words towards someone who only stopped him for throwing stones on passing cars, his elder brother and mother came out and started shouting at me. Brother even wanted to have a fight with me. �Their child had every right to do what he was doing � according to them. 12 years on I wonder where that child is now.

But a few short years ago, if a child or teenager were murdered on our streets there was national uproar. Now it happens every few days. There is sorrow, there is discussion - but it has become the norm. I cannot imagination the hurt that families have to endure. I certainly do know how I would react if it happened to one of my offspring. How on earth can a country go down to such depths in such a short time? Probably because there is no effective deterrent. Probably it is because parental control and upbringing has deteriated to a shocking level. Probably it is the fault of the Government. Probably a global problem. Probably it is alcohol and drug fuelled. Whatever the cause it appears to be tolerated by not only the authorities but by the general public at large.. A knife and gun amnesty does not work. The Justice system is continually increasing the maximum sentences - but surely it is the minium sentences which need to be adjusted. What would be wrong for re-introduction of the corporal punishment - a good flogging might just make the yob element think gain. Failing that - although I have reservations - bring back capital punishment.

Thanks Raggy - I think the only solution is to make people think twice before they commit a crime, especially a crime which wrecks people's life, parent�s future and dreams. When a mother conceives a child she starts dreaming about his/her future and the future of their next generations. So killing someone does not only put an end to a life, it also puts end to someone's dreams. For few people these dreams are ever thing. I do not even want to think about it but if this sort of thing happens to my Son. I would kill the person myself if I do not get proper justice. Think about me however some one likes.
