After having this particular shrub for a few years, last year
it did not flower , and i'm afraid it might not flower this year.
Has anyone any suggestions.?.

Philadelphus should be pruned immediately after flowering(June/July) did you give it a haircut during the winter last year? If so I would think it will flower ok this year.

Thank you Landscaper 2 It may well be that we neglected to
prune last year, but will make sure it gets a haircut this year.
