USB problems

I've re-installed windows XP pro due to various problems. I did a full re-format and load rather than a repair.

I've lost all USB connectivity, all 6 ports. No matter what USB device I plug in, XP wont pick up on it.

I did load the NVIDIA drivers as supplied with the motherboard and have checked the USB host is present in the hardware device manager.

I dont think its a harware problem as it was working perfectly before the re-format. I'll try a complete fresh install again tonight (bang goes the footy on TV :-( - unless anyone else has a better suggestion?

You need to load all the drivers on the cd that came with the motherboard. This has usb drivers sound and on board graphics etc

If you haven't got the cd go to the manufacturers website and download them from there.

download and install the correct chipset drivers for your motherboard, these should be available from the computer manufactures website

Thanks all. I have got the disk but the only drivers were for NVIDIA and the on-board sound. They were driven off the main menu on the CD splash screen. I'll have to have a better look at the disk!
