How does one tackle bullying at work when the person doing this is the best friend of the boss and she is aware of it, but does nothing about it except to add fuel to the fire, no one to report it to
The boss as in the Line Manager or the boss of the whole company? What I'm trying to say is can the person being bullied go over the head of the 'boss', straight to the top?
If not, it is a tough one. If it were me I would doing the bare minimum of work and putting all my energies into finding another job ASAP.
sammysnake,
I'm talking about The Boss in charge of team in canteen, does not matter how much work one does there is always picking faults, sarcastic-ness, and cant do right in there eyes
Sometimes an organisation is so corrupt that despite legislation and union protection, the really useful solution for you is to make your plans and leave. I have been in this situation once before and am currently considering it again. it is not a reflection on you: but these people are sh1ts and they gang together.
You have to weigh up what it is worth to have your spirit constantly drained by these people - you could be using this energy to a positive end. There will be a period of rebuilding as you find alternative paid work, but you will win through if you intend to.
be strong enough to walk away if that is the best outcome for you.
even if you walk , away ..from the job...... gather as much evidence ,,,,, that may useful to you , in any future claim .... there is a term used , in simalar situations as yourself - therm is "constructive dismissal " .... regards to you sunbabe - 55 , from A level law drop out -
I'm not too sure how long a person should be in a job before they can go for"destructive dismissal". I just joined the company in Janurary this year. it would seam as the boss is as bad. I'm feeling very uncomfortable and depressed going into work, not sure what sarcasim and nastiness I'm going to have to face. The people within the company are beginning to notice and pick up on them the way they are addressing me, which is very embarrasing to say the least. I have started to look for other jobs
