I apologise for being a geographical dimbo, what is the best way to get to a place called Dunvegan on skye from newcastle ,without spending a lot of money, hours driving or many changes on public transport.
Dunvegan is (according to the RAC) 357 miles from Newcastle, and it should be possible to drive this distance in 8-9 hours.
The least complicated public transport route would get you there with only 2 changes - dep Newcastle by MegaBus at 05h40, change at Inverness (CityLink 917) and Portree (Rapson's #56), arrive Dunvegan about 18h30. the return working takes longer (4hr wait at Inverness) - leave Dunvegan 07h55, arrive Newcastle 01h15.
Hi, I live in Fort William and would suggest you take a bus or train to glasgow where you can get a bus direct to portree,if you check out the citylink web site it will give you the bus times from Glasgow to Portree
