For the last five months i look as if i am 6 mths pregnant i had a hysterectomy about 14 years ago i am in my fortys but very active i still have my overies. i fill bloated all the time even if i just have a sandwich hope you can help. vicky
If I were you, I would go and see my doctor, you may have a food intolerance or water retention which is is causing the bloating. I am in my 40's too and have only lately realised that when I eat bread, I get very bloated, when I lay off the bread, my stomach is much flatter (still fat, but flatter!). Good luck and I hope you get it sorted.
I agree- wheat does cause bloating. Try eliminating it for a week and see if it helps. No bread, pasta. Eat Ryvita, oat cakes, oat cereal, wheat-free pasta instead. Or try Carol Vorderman's detox diet which basically eliminates wheat and dairy for a few weeks.
That is absolutely right, and it also includes yeast, and so no lager or even fizzy drinks, they all cause bloating, but the sliced white bread is the worst, if you want bread have wholegrain or any fresh baked loaf but not the pre packed white sliced stuff it is bad for your digestive system and hard to digest
Vicky, please go to your G.P. and get yourself checked. It's most likely to be IBS, but one of the early signs of ovarian cancer can be bloating of the stomach.
I'm not trying to scare you, but it's better to be safe than sorry .
