Hi - can anyone tell me if they know what (if any) banks will re-do all your direct debits for you if you change your current account over to them? I want to change banks but am too lazy to change all my direct debits myself! Cheers

most - possibly all- banks will do this for you
Yes most do - but don't rely on them to do it right or on time

You pay a price for being lazy .......
They all do it but you can guarantee they'll screw it up! You'll have some with double DD's and some with none. Here's what you do, open the new account and set up a standing order to pay the total of your dd's to the old account. That way any money left after your SO has gone from your new account you can spend. The old bank does all the work and get's no dosh! tada!

Geezer - I like your way of thinking. I will def be following your suggestion - I like the idea of my useless bank doing all the work for no gain!
If your old bank charges for DD's then you need to be careful doing it the way suggested above or you may end up with overdraft charges at your old bank because of their DD transfer charges being taken out of your account.

Your new bank should move all the DDs for you and let you know when its done. Just keep an eye on it is all.
I changed my account from Abbey to Halifax, they did all the work and I had 100 added to my account after 3 months ( they do offers every now and again). Was sceptical at first but it all went like clockwork.
Alliance & Leicester re-do all of your direct debits when transfering from another bank. You don't have to do a thing and they take care of all of that stuff. Stress free and I have had good experiences with this bank - excellent customer service.
