But I'm guessing the ligthing in the film is pretty dark so that obviously reflects the subject matter, era, location etc etc, come on, you can blag this, the golden rule of media studies is, anything goes as long as you can back up what you're saying.
Think yourself lucky kiddo, when I was there, the MS teacher was obsessed with everything being a phallic symbol ;)

Have you looked in any media journals? they generally have all the answers.
