i was in a private car park and i think i may have bumped into another car without knowing as my car had a bit of a scratch on the back bumper when i got home. what should i do? i am a new driver so im a bit nervous about waht the consequences are. but people have told me not to do anything becasue it was a private carpark its between the two drivers and knowone else can get invovled. eg (police) is this true?

The last part is rubbish, the land might be privately owned but it is open to the public and therefore for traffic purposes an open road and all traffic laws apply.

Unless there was a witness then it's unlikely anything will happen, given that the car you bumped into (if you did) is long gone I can't see how you can do much more about it.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it at all. The fact you didn't notice a bump would suggest to me somebody hit you rather than the other way round.
forget about it, if it was you, you got away with it now....
Don't worry
