Neighbour refuses to remove damaging Ivy attached to my house

A neighbours Ivy is growing into the loft of my house and damaging repointing but they wont remove it - what should I do?

i used to have neighbours that were "reluctant to clear up , the DOG POOP ........ large scoops of dog poop . about the size of a COW PAT some times with thier ROTTWEILERs etc ..... they moved some yeras ago .... ----- no positive answer drom me regarding the IVY situation...

Write them a firm but friendly letter quoting the legislation, Access to Neighbouring Property Act, claim that you wish to resolve this matter amicabley, without involving solicitors. State that to involve solicitors in this matter would then constitute a dispute, which in the event of either of you selling your houses would need to be declared on the SPIF, which may affect the selling price or in fact may deter potential buyers.

Why are some people so bloody minded... some people have nothing else to do than be awkward!!!!grrrr

Emed1984. Actually it is recommended to take Ivy off the wall whilst it is alive or just been cut as it is dead brittle Ivy than is difficult to get off and takes the pointing with it!
