I'm interested in a vacancy which states "must have 'Peoplesoft' system experience". Does anyone know how would I go about gaining this required experience, whether there is a basic online tutorial or, as it's simply a matter of inputting invoices onto the system, whether a brief tuition is all that's needed? Many thanks.

I took a temp job requiring the same in an account dept. It's really easy and straight forward. if you haven't got PS experience, have you used any other accounting packages / bespoke programmes? if so I'd promote that knowledge. If you've got your head screwed on and are familiar with "quirky" stuff like accounting packages then sure wont be a problem.

Hiya Cerby,

I used PeopleSoft in my old company at AON consulting which was a pensions company, basically, it is an invoice system where you go through each step to build up an invoice, in the end steps, it takes you to a PDF version an it brings up the invoice that you made!  Bit tricky and i could never get the hang of it, although i went on 1 training course, i probably needed to go on a few more with this - if you have computer knowledge and are (Very) patient - you'll be fine.  Let me know how it goes.

Hope this answered your question suitably.

Cheers guys. I wasn't going to bother applying for the post but having read your fine replies, I think I'll give it a bash....and if my patience does run out, I'll be administering the computer with a different kind of bash :) I was so chuffed with your responses, in fact, that I've temporarily stopped feeding myself Roses to offer a sticky-fingered handshake to Ian and a big chocolaty kiss to Lauren. Merry Christmas to you both.
