A very annoying American predicament...
The card is in his name, the house is too etc, but they're both held responsible for paying the bills, and since he doesn't she has to or she's in the *******. There's nothing she can do about it. She told me even after they're divorced, if he doesn't pay the bills they'll chase her up for it!
How is that right? And how on earth does she get free from the bills?

if so, she's held responsible and they will chase her down to pay, also consider that fact that he applied for his credit card while married ( i'm assuming) therefore, she's somewhat perceived as a partial participant!
if you elaborate a little more, i might be able to help you in this matter.
Well it's different, being in America, as their laws are completely different and I have no idea what the laws are over there. I just find that even if she got a divorce she's still be responsible complete ********.
I don't know if there's any more to elaborate. She didn't co-sign anything, but they still chase her up for the payments, they already are doing, because he's just not paying them, he doesn't go to work half the time and so doesn't get any pay.
Basically, he's got a credit card, maxed it out, and isn't paying for it, now they're chasing her up because they want their money back. As for the mortgage on the house, the loan company didn't want her name on the deed, but since he's not paying that either they're after her for it.
What's up with that :-/
