Insurance Cover Note

Hi Folks, my son has had a quote and is renewing his car insurance with Zurich through Swintons tomorrow. His car tax is also due, my query is will Swintons issue him with a cover note tomorrow suitable for doing this (Not a fax or photocopy) or will he have to wait for it to come through the post from Zurich. Thankyou

Once his insurance has been paid for, it will be registered online and he will be able to get his car tax renewed on line straight away. Technically (as he will have to wait on the disc through the post), he will not be displaying a current tax disk, but he would be unlikely to be stopped as the police etc. can check online to see if tax has been paid for.

Thanks so much annie0000, really appreciate your help. Bit worried about him not displaying a current tax disc as the advice sites warn you must do so and apply in plenty of time but understand your point that the police can check. Thankyou again.

When i have taxed on-line it was through in a couple of days,

i doubt whether he will be registered on the data base that soon,it took us a few weeks,before it was on.the post office will not accept anything but a original for taxing perposes,even if he can get it on line,it is illegal to drive without displaying a tax disc,whether he has one or not.

Thanks chas2008 and NORMANTHEDOG, have said I wont post on site again after being embarassed in discovering I have annoyed people by posting in a couple of sections to ask them to look at my question here (Have posted an apology and explanation in chatterbank on post from last night) but I wanted to acknowledge your answers.
