Did anyone see Carol - what a really brave lady. She informed on her two sons who had beaten up a man who was badly hurt and lost the sight in one eye. He lost a lot of money as he was not able to work and has then been suffering from depression. This lady did the right thing but has been cut off from her family. None of her children will have anything to do with her, and she has not been able to see any of her grandchildren. What a very sad story, I felt so sorry for her and cried watching her. She says she would do the same thing again. Both sons are in prison now, but she has been unable to visit them. She said she still loves her children and hopes one day they will forgive her. When you hear so many awful stories of violence every day, it is incredible to hear of what this lady has done. Well done - I hope things work out for her in the future.

I did not see her on TV, but it is strange that she has been cut off from her family.

I assume her violent and yobbish sons, who are now in prison, will be welcomed back into the family with open arms.

Shows what sort of family they are.
Way to go Carol!!
Perhaps if more people did likewise there could be a drop in the crime rate. Thugs would realise they cant hide with their dirty deeds behind families and friends.
It's not as if her sons were imressionable youngsters, they were of an age to know better, and the rest of the family should feel absolutely ashamed that they treat their mother/grandmother this way !
I agree VHG - not a very nice family.
"Honour amongst thieves "- what a load of old rubbish!
I totally agree with mata hati and vhg in that the mother, in my opinion, turned her son in and what is unusual in this case is that it was the MOTHER. Parents and particularly mothers see their children through rose coloured spectacles and they can do no wrong. How many times have we seen over the last 2-3 decades the situation where a mother has appeared on TV, usually in tears, extolling the virtues of her son who was in custody on a charge of rape or murder. "i know my son and he is incapable of doing such a crime" In one nameless part of the country, N.W England with 2 premiership football teams, they have a code of their own which involves the term, "the Family" and thet close ranks defending any criminal act perbetrated by one of the "family" With this deep seated and prevalant mentality, incidence of crime will never change. Well done Carol.
