Thanks but the two links both respond with `530 login` not accepted` whatever that means. I`ve ok`d that but then says `is now downloading` and still is 20 minutes later, there doesn`t appear too much happening. Any clues pleas?

It's free, open source, and includes features only in the "paid for" versions of some similar progs.

I`ve got it downloaded, just remains to figure it all out!!

Once it's installed, just select the data you want erased and right-click, then choose "Erase". Check the "options" on the pop-up box: there are a number of erase types you can use; I'd go for the 7-pass wipe at least. The 35-pass wipe is more secure, but you could be waiting a while if you have a lot of data to erase!
