A suitable holiday destination in europe?

Going away with 3 young people aged around 16. Want to go somewhere in Europe and needs to be cheap for flights and an apartment. Also, having a beach is important plus having some other things to do. Looking to go around mid August. Any suggestions and suitable web sites would be appreciated. Thanks

'cheap' 'august' and 'beach' don't compute. August is the busiest and most profitable time and the resorts cash in.
Am I correct in assuming 'sun' is part of the equation?

If you are prepared to accept an inland or less sunny location, you could do well by hiring a cottage in cornwall or any other coastal location around the UK. It's just that conwall has the sur scene 4 de yoof

If you are all 16 this is going to be very difficult.

Most places will not accept a booking from a group of 16 year olds.

Most places will only accept a booking with a credit card, but you cannot get one till you are 18.

Barcelona is a possibility. You can get fairly cheap flights, even in August. easyJet fly directly to Barcelona (El Prat) Airport but Ryanair are usually cheaper. They fly to both Girona and Reus, from where there's a connecting coach service (taking an hour and a bit from either airport) into Barcelona. I've just checked some random (midweek) dates in mid August for flights from Stansted to Girona and there are loads on offer at �68.61 return, including taxes and charges.
