Hi A'bnkrs. Less than 2 weeks before I am due to go on holiday I've been told that my flight has been cancelled from a local airport (approx 1 hour) and that the only other flight for me is an aiport further afield (3 hours).

I am being offered 30 compensation for this change, however this seems very unfair as the flight time has totally changed meaning I'll have to drive the early hours of the morning or travel the night before and pay for an overnight hotel.

Do I have any rights, or do I have to accept the 30 and complain for more when I get back. I've googled loads of stuff but haven't been able to find an answer...

Thanks in advance to anybody who can help.

Hi, I thought as much but its so blinking frustrating! Its totally changed how and when we will have to set off, not least expenses we hadn't budgeted for.......thanks for your reply...
Maybe as a public service you could give us a clue which airline to save more folks getting stuffed like this.
hmm, not sure; even if they do have a condition that they can change anything they like, a court might say this is illegal. A holiday from Liverpool (for instance) simply isn't a holiday from Manchester. They have to give you roughly what you booked, though minor amendments are generally permitted.

Some advice here

Hope you get some more specific advice from somoeone who knows more about it than me.
