Do you have to report accidents with wildlife?

My friend hit a badger, Badger dead! Radiator smashed on car and 350 quid garage bill! Does this have to be reported and could this be claimed on insurance 3rd party?

Don't need to report it, and you can only claim off comprehensive cover - he will lose some no-claims bonus (if not protected, and assuming he has some).

The amount of claims I see where people have ''avoided an animal'' late on a Friday/Saturday night (not been to the pub obviously, and were travelling at 20mph honest guv) leads me to believe that there is a conspiracy of uninsured animals plotting the human downfall by causing accidents.

They're trying to make the roads safer for hedgehogs - or so I've heard....
