As some of you may know, i have been offered a new job- whoooop! But - i think the offer may be withdrawn! before applying for this job i applied for another one that specified English as a good thing to have - and i have an English Degree. So i may have slightoly fibbed and put i had a 2.1 rather than the 2.2 that i did get..... Anyway - have toally forgotten to change it on my CV and now they have this company that is going to check all references and qualifiactions! Totally my own fault i know and i dont usually lie but i was so desperate for a job!! Thing is i dont want to call them and tell as they will know i tried to decieve someone else - although i know they will think that i tried to decieve them! Either way ive now handed in my notice, will probably not get this job and will be left high and dry!! Moral of the story - DONT TELL FIBS!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus there's always one ****** on here who thinks they're above everyone else and points out mistakes!
get over it!
And the reason that i think i was 3 MARKS off a 2.1 is due to the fact i fainted all through my exams due to stress as I had a family member die and i had severe glandular fever.
So if you wouldnt mind keeping you mouth shut...

The chances are that all they will check (if they do at all) is that you attended universtiy and have a degree. Did you only put it on your CV, or did you also have to put it on an application form? The difference being that there is usually a statement that you sign on a application form to confirm that you are telling the truth, however, on a CV you don't, so while technically dishonest, it is expected that CVs are embellished from time to time - that is why people are often told that you must fill in an application form and it is not enough to send in a CV.
I agree that you should sit tight and be honest if and when required. Did you pass a long time ago? If so, you might be forgiven for having "forgotten" exactly what degree you have. Pesonally, I have no idea of any of my grades for any exams I have sat. I therefore just put a pass in my CV rather than risk getting it wrong.
Also, if they were really that interested, they would have required you to bring your certificates with you.

I still don't think this is as bad as a friend of mine who went to uni and wrote under 'languages spoken: English and French' so that he could do 2 years of German as what he called 'The easiest elective ever'.
He's austrian. Very hard work pretending you don't know a language, especially your mother tongue, apparently.
