Rat race

This year I intend to give up my job and mortgage to move away and become a student again. I can't wait, but I am also rather nervous. Is this a rash thing to do at 35?! Has anyone else done this, and lived to tell the tale?

It's never too late to follow your ambition when you get the chance. Oh and by the way - don't worry about feling 'old' among the students. I felt the opposite. I was treated no different from all the other, younger students both by the students themselves and by the tutors. To blend in, I began to dress more fashionably and guess what, I neither looked nor felt ridiculous. I developed new tastes in music and a modern outlook on life. Best of luch, Scarlett. Go for it!
when i did my degree there was a 32 in our grop, he was the oldest (and older than some of the lecturers!), but he fitted in with us jsut fine. if anything, people respected him for being wiser than the rest of us and everyone wanted to be in his group as he was the 'cool mature one' who had had proper jobs and done loads of 'grown up' things. Scarlett, they'll love you!
All I can say (bit to young to draw from experience) is go with your heart. If you believe you will be happier then its always going to be the right choice. You have the means and the drive to do it, not everyone has and I think everyone should have a chance to be happier - don't you?
