it's the Ancient Library of Alexandria, in Alexandri
Actually it's the brand new library in Alexandria called the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Lots of pictures in Corbis if you enter the words.
I've searched countless photographs of the Bibliotheca, including all those on Corbis, but whilst very similar to that in the question I'm not concinced this is the answer. The supporting columns and ceiling detail in the photograph do not match those of the actual Bibliotheca building in Alexandria.
Brian by process of elimination I worked out that Richard Duebel took the photo who isn't listed with corbis so actual photo must be elsewhere, however, richard Duebel is known for taking photos in the islamic world and an architectural site names the library as being covered by different mathematical and writing symbols including a backwards capital E which is reasonable evidence for me but I still can't find supporting evidence for 30 if any one can help please.
