fuel tax

i am going away in two weeks time to america and have just seen that from today some airlines have added money to their fuel tax. will we be made to pay the difference as it nearly comes to �200.

I have no idea but just saw that on the news!
BA will be charging over �800 in fuel surcharges for a family trip to the Florida - unbelievable

What does it say in your contract? With just 2 weeks to go I find it hard to see how they could charge you extra

Which airline are you flying with? BA's fuel surcharge, for example, only applies to tickets purchased from next Sunday onwards:

(i.e. existing ticket holders, and those who book before Sunday, don't have to pay the surcharge).

Check the relevant website to find the information you require. (Alternatively, tell us who you're travelling with and we'll try to find the information. It's often 'buried deep' within a website).

Thanks for that Chris, as I booked in April with BA and am flying in August to England from Spain and was wondering about the surcharge, so I won't have to pay it then??

Hi, I'm no expert on the detailed policies of individual airlines. I can only go on what they put on their websites (or otherwise publish). Based on the content of the link I've provided, my understanding is that you should not have to pay any fuel surcharge.
