Just had a persistent trio of pamphlet wielding Jehovahs at the door. Why oh why do they insist on dragging small, unhappy looking children with them, especially on a school day?
It is a christian symbol. Indecating u are a fisher of men. Something Jesus said in the bible.
It's sort of like wearing a cross or star of David.
It was given to me on my baptism.
It worked. For the 6 years I lived at that house not one of them crossed the threashhold of the gate.
When I moved it went missing.
don't tell them that shake.
Its like waving a red rag at a bull.
They go for the lonely, the old and the lost. That why the mostly operate during the day when mothers are alone at home with the children. Get the mothers u get the old man to. I've seen it done with a lady on the street where I lived.
Her husband had a fit but with in a year he was hooked to.
She used to be a good friend until she told my 6 yearold son that he wouldn't see me in heaven when he died.
I went mental at her.
Wether u believe in God or not u don't tell a 6 year old things like that.
lol I didn't mean u were Mrs. it's a pot luck thing. For all the doors they knock on they might find at least one ready to listen. To them thats good odds.
In Roman times, before they adopted Christianity, Chritianity was forbidden. The fish sign was the sign that Christians put on their doors to let other Christians know who they were.
Nowadays, you just see them on the back of people's cars.
MMM that to jog.TY
My history of the whole thing is a bit short. Embarrising for a baptist. I know that it does apply to the whole fisher of men thing.
I always invite them in, they are lovely people, and occasionally very tasty. It's only after about 4 sessions, when they start to introduce some of their idiosyncrasies (such as impaling) that we have to part amicably.
