This week the AnswerBank have teamed up with Octopus Publishing and we have 5 copies of their latest book to give away!
The Top 10 for Men is the perfect gift for any general knowledge buff, featuring 250 lists on all subjects, ranging from fast cars to beer brands...
For your chance to win your very own copy of "Top 10 for Men". All you have to do is email us with the answers to the following questions
1. What is the most common phobia in the UK?
2. What is the top confectionary brand in the UK?
3. The last person to ever be beheaded in Britain was carried out in which year?
We still have 3 books to give away, so we decided to extend the competition to 10 June 2008.
Winners will be selected at random and contacted via email.
Good Luck!

why is this thread still cluttering up the site and sitting at the top of the Questions page 1 ?
... the competition closed yesterday!!!!!
is there an Ed?
is there a (very) part time Ed?
was it the Ed who posted the competition in the first place?
let us hope that the random 'winners' (after being contacted) will identify themselves and be able to throw some light on the 'to be, or not to be, Ed !
if the site hadn't deteriorated so much, the future might be looking brighter .... as it is - I am looking for the next word beyond 'pathetic' .

is there no shame from the Editorial team?
is there an Editorial Team ... hello, anyone left on the Bridge?
was Captain (BirdsEye) Ed the first to jump?
how do you get out of the Sargasso Sea when you are in so deep?
...... you liquidate and move on :-)

I use this web site two or three times a week and have seen this competition pinned to the top of the board for a while now. This evening I thought I would have a go at it. I emailed my answers (one known fact and two guesses) and then went on to read all the replies (and answers!!) submitted.
I know this site can be a bit quirky at times and that a small minority of users are at best idiots, but when I have submitted questions, I have found the vast majority of users and thier replies very helpful.
This is a free web site! I wonder if those users that are so quick to complain about it are familiar with the phrase, "never look a gift horse in the mouth"?

So, Lanthanein, you think the fact that it is free, excuses the blatant disregard of the numerous queries that have been raised, paticularly regarding the Search facility not functioning ? All it would take is for the editor to issue a simple statement in his/her blog. Even if the editor is indisposed, surely, someone must be running the site and could issue a statement !
just in case anyone misses the latest backdated comment made yesterday pm - thesea re the changed words added on 4th June pm .....

oh dear .... insufficient entrants results in competition extention - take a hint Ed about the way ABers are voting!

If I paid to use this web site I would be the first to complain about its shortcomings, but its free!
I agree that the lack of input from the site admin is annoying but that is nothing compared to the flak they get from the users.
If I ran this site I would pull the plug and say f*** all of you!!
I dont want this to happen so please stop complaining and enjoy this free web site.
