I heard somewhere that there are certain book stores that let you trade in old books for store credit at one quater of the marked price. Is this true? And if so, where can I find such a store?

Where are you?

Whilst I haven't come across any that are that cut-and-dried over price offers (indeed, most 2nd hand bookstores tend to be a bit sniffy about buying stock in my experience) I know of some in Portsmouth that does buy stock. I've found that most such shops are more likely to give you credit when you return books that you have bought from them than for "new" stock.
