The system I had was to have a plastic mould of my teeth made and then every night for several weeks I had to squeeze a peroxide solution into a mould and go to bed. It did whiten my teeth well but they became terribly sensitive, so much so that when I had the mould in all night, it felt like little electric shocks were darting around my mouth!! Aarrgghh!! So I used it every few nights in the end. I hated going to sleep with the mould in - it reminded me of when I used to wear a brace. Yak!
Anyway, I bought the kit called 'superwhite' from ebay, costing around 7, as opposed to 150!! This uses a stronger whitening solution and you only have to leave it in for 15-20mins! Heaven! I use it with my existing mould but it does come with its own mould which you put in boiling water and then suck it in to contour your teeth! It works well and I recommend it - especially as you can do it whilst getting ready in the morning. Beware though - I tried to be a clever clogs and left it in for 40mins- my teeth were on edge all day and I could hardly bite into anything.
The other process at the dentist that costs about 500 is a one off. The dentist does it whilst you are there using solutions and some sort of laser. I have seen this on sky t.v and it looks really fantastic. The programmes I have viewed though have been from America where thay are fanatic about white teeth, so I don't know if the treatment is as well applied here.
Hope this helps!
I have the crest white strips, they do not weaken enamel and aren't bad for your teeth at all ( checked with a dentist).
Although I havent got round to using them yet, they came highly recommended by 3 friends who have tried them.
I don't rate pearl drops at all - i found they dont whiten your teeth or refresh your mouth/breath!

And remember, overly white teeth look unnatural!
5029 - I have to agree that overly white teeth can look unnatural. Also people should remember that some of the celeb's on TV & in glossy magazines, grinning like cheshire cats with Daz looking teeth, are probably enhanced by today's technology! No wonder some people get disheartened when they can't obtain the same results.
I think I'll just stick to what my dentist advised me.
