I have an old Art Deco armchair which the cat has pulled to bits.   I'd like to re-upholster it, maybe in leather or faux leather.   Is this feasible as a DIY project, as I suspect that to get it done professionally will be extortionate?

Re-upholstering furniture, especially armchairs & sofas, is a not an easy task. I would wait until you can afford to get it done professionally & perhaps in the mean time, buy a loose cover for it.

P.S. Also, perhaps you could try an up-holstery course at college.

* I meant a re-upholstery course - of course!

invest in a staple gun and you will be set
Believe me portocat, you need more than a staple gun!
