Whisky and threp?

On Coronation Street, Fred Elliot often orders a ' whisky and threp '. Does anyone know what this means? I said....does anyone know what this means?

He actually says 'whisky and threat'. My hubby thinks it is whisky and water.

Thats right.  It is whisky and threat means 'threaten' the whisky with water i.e don't put much water in it!

Whisky and threat is what the lovely Fred orders. It does refer to whisky and water, but 'threat' means to oinly show the water to the whisky - in other words 'threaten' to drown it!

My late father was a whisky drinker and always said the only thing to put into a glass of whisky was another one! Anything else was an insult to the whisky!

mother25 is right. whiskey and threat means whiskey straight, the threat means just to threaten it with water (without actually adding any).
