Artists using war and natural disaster

Im trying to find if there are any artista i could research who use the idea of war or natural disaster in their work.  i want to show how things like that can affect the world or even us as just single people.  any ideas would be much appreciated!xxx

Have a look at Picasso's 'Guernica'.

Guernica was the name of a town in the Basque country of Northern Spain. In 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, it was indiscriminately bombed and vrtually obliterated by Hitler's Luftwaffe, possibly under orders from Franco himself. (Nazi Germany, together with the Italians under Mussolini, were aiding Franco's pro-fascist forces in Spain). Many civilians were killed and the town burnt for three days.

Picasso's painting was the artist's reaction to the atrocity.

Dear Glover,
have you looked at the work of Peter Kennard? He's been doing work for the past 25/30 years on war, poverty, the
homeless. He mostly uses photo montage. He recently had an exhibition at City Hall in London called 'Demo'.

I am a mature student at the University of the Arts and am trying to set up an anti-iraq war group, to make art in the form of painting, sculpture, posters etc. We want this to culminate in getting out art out on the streets and collecting money for Amnesty International.
