Floods

I have just had a flash flood where I live and my property has had 1cm of water come in throughout the ground floor. My front entrance is concrete and there is 2 steps down to the front door. My rear entrance has a small concrete patio then is grass. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to prevent it happening again?

Put the house on sticks.....I think you're in a flood plain.

Better not claim off your insurance as next premium will be sky-high.

Has ther been any river/water diversion around you.
