If I have the bayliff coming to take goods would they take your pet or just goods?

Bailiffs don't take goods to punish people, or just for the fun of it. They only take things which can be sold at auction to pay of some of the debt.

If you own a valuable racehorse, they might consider seizing it but there's no way that they would take a normal domestic pet.

have you let them in you property already?? if so you are ********!!!

If not DO NOT let them in... on the first visit they have no right to entry.. make sure your windows are shut etc as they come in through a open window or door but can't break in and if you answer the door they can NOT force entry no matter what they say.

Tell them to pass the debt back to the original person that is claiming it and shut the door in their face.

The ballif is not the person you owe the money to and they have no legal rights until you give them the rights by letting them into your property for the first time

If they are aggressive then they can be prosecuted

To be short the only thing you should ever say to a bailf is NO you can not enter my property.

And always best not to get into the position of bailiffs having to call in the first place. Debts can often be sorted out by contacting the people you owe money to, and working out reduced payments until or if you can get back on track again.

Bailiffs have had the legal right to force an entry to your home since 2004.

That applies to fines, fixed penalties enforced by magistrates courts, or income tax arrears.

Peaceful entry only for all other debt.

Koi could be taken if the bailiff can get peaceful entry to the pond - they are allowed to climb over walls, gates and fences. It would be interesting to see if they fall into the category of domestic pet. However, moving fish and keeping them healthy will take organising. They wouldn't be prepared to do it on first visit.
If you have had the bailiffs round and have expensive koi - move them to a friend's pond if possible.

Thought I saw on one of the many bailiff programmes that if a dog was a redigree then they would take it so maybe it applies to the fish - perhaps take them for a little holiday until it all blows over

they have no right what so ever to take away your pet or anything on h.p or anything that does not belong to you where you can produce a reciept for example if you had your friends p.c and they had the reciept
