Plumbs covers - recommend or not?

My sofas are very comfortable and I'd like to keep them, but the material is getting very worn.  I keep seeing adverts for Plumbs in magazines,etc. and when I've looked on Google their name is pretty prominent.  The pictures on their site make their product look very good compared to covers on some of the other sites I found.  Has anyone actually had covers made by them?  If so were you impressed?

AB editors will be upset at questions naming names and asking opinions.  All I can say is that they advertise widely through magazines, tv, internet etcetera and that they appear to be a reputable company but their prices aren`t the cheapest.  You gets what you pays for so ultimately the choice is yours but I would check out any local sources first.  Best wishes.

I have had several quotes over the years from....was it Apples? or Cherries? (don't want to upset auntie AB)...could have been plums...anyway they were very dear and the fabric offered at lower prices ranges is stretch knit. I have 2 cats so these covers would resemble laddered tights very quickly! Sometimes you can find upholsterers who will make fitted covers but these too will be dear. I had to bite the bullet recently regarding two cherished armchairs and get rid, as it was simply better value to buy a new set from some swedish-sounding company (no names please!)

Yes, we had some very tatty sofa plus cushions covered by them. Mind you, I'm going back a good many years, and from what I can remember they were fine. Like everything else you get what you pay for...

Have you had a look at Mostyns - or somewhere like that?

Thank you for your helpful replies and suggestions - more food for thought. Apologies for mentioning a company by name - I hadn't realised it was such a crime!  I'm fairly new to all this so I'll stick to just answering questions in future!
